What is NOTO?

Nature & Outdoor Tourism Ontario or NOTO for short, is the association of resource-based tourism businesses, representing this industry in Ontario since 1929. Our members are proud to offer some of the highest quality and most diverse outdoor recreation experiences you can find across the huge Canadian Province of Ontario.

For over 80 years NOTO has been the voice of nature and Outdoor tourism in working with government on resource management practices to ensure that Ontario can continue to boast about its high quality natural resources that attract avid anglers and hunters from all over the world. From traditional hunting and fishing trips to outdoor adventure, NOTO remains committed to working with our members, industry partners, and government to ensure growth for the these tourism sectors that continue to contribute significantly to the economy and quality of life of the people in Ontario.

Ontario is truly a sportsman’s paradise. It is bounded by Lake of Superior and Lake Huron to the south and by the Tundra to the north; by the mighty Ottawa River to the east and the Manitoba border, some 2400 kilometers (1500 miles) to its west.

Our pristine wilderness lakes and waterbodies teem with walleye, bass, pike, and trout. Our country-side calls out to those who are seeking relaxation and solitude amongst some of the most beautiful scenery your eyes will ever see. Our resource-based tourism industry in Ontario is made up of over 1300 lodges, resorts, camps, camping/trailer parks, canoe outfitters, and fly-in services located in the heart of Canadian wilderness.
