WHY HUNT OR FISH WITH A MEMBER OF A RECOGNIZED PROFESSIONAL OUTFITTER-GUIDE ASSOCIATION

While there are any number of guides and outfitters operating in our industry today, hunting or fishing with an active member of a provincial association will go a long way to insure a successful and enjoyable experience.

Why?

  • Legal – By booking with an association member, clients are assured that they are       hunting/fishing with a properly licensed and registered guide or outfitter
  • Ethical – Members of recognized outfitters associations are bound by strict Codes of Ethics, based on fair chase principles, local laws, regulations and customs.
  • Qualified – Many associations have stringent requirements for membership, more stringent than simple licensing and registration.
  • Experienced – Active association members tend to have more time in the field and in the professional hunting/fishing industry, often years of hunting and fishing familiar areas, concessions, rivers and lakes.
  • Knowledgeable – Through their associations, members can more easily stay current on local, national and international laws and requirements.
  • Responsible – As they are bound to strict Codes of Ethics and Conduct, they also pledge themselves to be good caretakers and stewards of wildlife resources.
  • Accountable – Clients booking with members of outfitters associations have support and recourse. These associations police their own, holding their members accountable for professional, fair and ethical behavior. Associations investigate complaints against their members and, if justified, take corrective action for the good of the client and the industry.
  • Stewardship – members of professional outfitters & guides associations are responsible stewards of both the resource and the habitat, insuring hunting and fishing today… and tomorrow!
